Nerds

Nerd–noun Slang.
1. a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person.
2. an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a nonsocial hobby or pursuit

I think we've all come across at least one of these guys in our lifetime. Whether it be in high school, a book store or games stores, we've seen them and most don't really like or understand them. But ever since they lost the head gear, grabbed a webcam and grew a pair, we've welcomed them with open arms... we'll the internet has at least.

There is a massive amount of nerdy people on the web and I love watching them so I decided to compile a little list of my favorite ones. These guys are informative, intelligent but most of all, funny as hell to watch. So, without further ado....
Kitty Massacre's favorite nerds:

1) The Angry Video Game Nerd

I truly cannot get enough of this guy. Written, directed and staring James Rolfe, AVGN is calls Cinemassacre.com home. I love the AVGN because I use to be a big gamer myself in the days of Atari and Nintendo. Watching his videos sends me back to a time of giant running pads, Sega Channel and the urge to snap plastic guns on my knee.

The AVGN reviews games that I believed no one else had even heard of! I mean, I really thought I was the only person who had ever played Bible Adventures let alone owned it. His NES collection is more than impressive along with his knowledge of the games and accessories.

His website isn't just about games, there you will also find little movies that he has done and reviews of movies. Though, honestly, I just go to watch his game reviews. But either way, the AVGN holds a special little place in my heart.

2) That Guy with the Glasses a.k.a. The Nostalgia Critic

He remembers it, so you don't have to! Okay, so there's a lot to look at when visiting "That Guy with the Glass'" website, but what I go there for is "The Nostalgia Critic." He reviews movies that just make you die a little inside after watching it, but does it in a way that makes you glad that you at least know what the hell he's going on about.

His videos are hilarious and have almost cost me my computer monitor that just about met its demise with spewed soda.
Some notable reviews are "Top 11 Dumbest Superman Moments", "Howard the Duck" and "Tom and Jerry the Movie". But, really, you just need to watch them all.

The Nostalgia Critic has also reviewed Nickelodeon shows including ones from Nicktoons. I especially loved these reviews because, yes, I'm considered a "baby" and pretty much grew up on the Nickcoms, Pete and Pete, Salute Your Shorts and Rocko's Modern Life being my favorites.

There is much more going on on his site than just the Nostalgia Critic, so I definitely recommend checking out his site to see into this sharp tongued man's world.

3) WoW Radio

Okay, so this one is actually quite new to me, but I had to make a note of it. I'm not a huge WoW player, though I do log on every once in a while, but I felt the need to share this.

WoW radio is a group of experienced players who record radio and podcasts to help new players out. I have to admit I have underestimated the power of WoW. I truly never thought it was so popular people would actually get together to talk about everyday on a radio. Better yet, I never thought it was so popular that people would actually listen to it!

But it seems I was wrong since here it is!

It says on the website "We love the game, we are fans of it, but it is our duty to the community and our listeners to express full and frank opinions, backed up by solid arguments, facts and evidence." It seems like this is very serious business!

Ok, maybe it's not all business. It seems there is much fun to be had to listen to the show. So, for you hardcore WoW fans (or maybe just those who want to be) it might be interesting for you to check out this site.

4) That Chick with the Goggles
An adorable art nerd with nifty little cyber/ steampunk goggles on her head. Her videos currently reside on The Nostalgia Critic's website.

That's all I can say about her.

No, really, that's it. For some reason while writing these reviews my sound card (or something) has crappy out on me.

Maybe it felt threatened by these angry nerds and is simply protecting itself. Who knows? But it seems like this review will have to be saved for another time (hopefully soon). So, until then you can check out her blog of art here.

So, while there are more nerds to talk about, I guess I will have to save it for another time. Until then I'll be busy beating the crap out of my computer... err... I mean, loving it and being really nice to it in the hopes that it will play sound again.

help me...
